Psychotherapy | Private practice Hermosa Beach, CA.

I am so grateful to now be sharing my suite with @jenn.haddad!
Jenn is a Licensed Acupuncturist and provides a combination of services including acupuncture, cupping, massage and Chinese herbs.
After three treatments with her myself, I can say that she is incredibly skilled, compassionate and knowledgeable, and approaches her work from a genuine place of caring for your mind, body and soul.
Acupuncture can help alleviate stress, depression and anxiety, as well as chronic pain, digestive issues and physical injuries.
I love being able to share my space with her and collaborate with like-minded practitioners.
You can reach her at (310) 721-0525 with any questions or to make an appointment.
โ€œThough the public may believe that therapists guide patients systematically and sure-handedly through predictable stages of therapy to a foreknown goal, such is rarely the case: instead, as these stories bear witness, therapists frequently wobble, improvise, and grope for direction.
The powerful temptation to achieve certainty through embracing an ideological school and a tight therapeutic system is treacherous: such belief may block the uncertain and spontaneous encounter necessary for effective therapy.
This encounter, the very heart of psychotherapy, is a caring, deeply human meeting between two people, one (generally, but not always, the patient) more troubled than the other.
Therapists have a dual role: they must both observe and participate in the lives of their patients. As observer, one must be sufficiently objective to provide necessary rudimentary guidance to the patient. As participant, one enters into the life of the patient and is affected and sometimes changed by the encounter. โ€œ

Thankful on the daily for this work and the amazing humans i get to know and walk beside ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’›
#irvinyalom โ€œA great many of our clients have conflicts in the realm of intimacy, and obtain help in therapy sheerly through experiencing an intimate relationship with the therapist. Some fear intimacy because they believe there is something basically unacceptable about them, something repugnant and unforgivable. Given this, the act of revealing oneself fully to another and still being accepted may be the major vehicle of therapeutic help.โ€ - Irvin D Yalom, The Gift of Therapy
All i can say is Pray. For change. For humanity. For this Earth. Another senseless shooting that could and should have been avoided.
This one is close to home. But really for us all, they all are.
Thousand Oaks...the town I grew up with, the town I went to Grad School, the town where I first faced many of my demons and started my path of recovery. My heart is with you today and in the days to come. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ’” #notonemore

.
Murphyโ€™s mom @rachel_daggett is a fellow marriage and family therapist in the South Bay specializing in eating disorders. Hereโ€™s her story of how much Murphy means to her and her husband...
.
.
โ€œMy husband and I adopted Murphy about 2 weeks after we got married, unplanned, but such perfect timing since I was experiencing some serious post-wedding blues (itโ€™s a thing), and we always said if we ever got a puppy we wanted it to be a cockapoo. The second i saw his little fluffer face and learned he already had a strong Irish โ˜˜๏ธ name i knew it was destiny! We were SO unprepared about how to care for/train a ten week old animal but going through that process together definitely brought us closer and taught us many good/hard marriage lessons real quick! .
I know from the depths of my soul that it was Murphy who found us, and for good reason. He has two speeds, and only two. Zero & One Hundred. At zero heโ€™s the snuggliest, sleepiest, sweetest little fuzz ball. OR he is the most spastic, excited, ball of literal insanity. There is no in between. In the moments I get irritated with him stealing my slippers, tearing around the house or pulling on his leash in 5 directions at once, I find myself laughing and remembering not to take life too seriously. .
I tell ya, dogs, we just donโ€™t deserve them.โ€
